When the pavement runs out, the Invacare AVIVA RX40 keeps going. It's a Class 3 powerchair that can travel on the road at up to 8mph, so getting to the shops, visiting family or heading into town needn't depend on lifts or bus timetables. A fully road-legal lighting package with bright ultra-beam technology keeps you visible on darker winter afternoons and evenings.
The RX40 is built on Invacare's rear wheel drive base, with CTC suspension that keeps all four wheels on the ground and isolates the seat from bumps and vibration. The result is a stable, comfortable ride on uneven surfaces. LiNX control learns how you drive and adjusts to it, and the optional G-Trac feature holds a true line so you're not always correcting the joystick. With the larger battery, it can cover up to 29 miles (47km) on a single charge.
Where the RX40 really stands apart is its seating. You can choose from Invacare's advanced seating systems with options such as powered tilt, recline and a seat lift of up to 300mm, set up for long-term comfort, posture and pressure care. Can the Invacare AVIVA RX40 be driven on the road?
Yes. The AVIVA RX40 is a Class 3 powerchair. It can travel at up to 8mph on the road and is limited to 4mph on pavements. It comes with a fully road-legal lighting package, and like all Class 3 powerchairs it needs to be registered with the DVLA.
