Product advice

Is Molift Air 205 Ceiling Hoist (with IRC/Propulsion) right for you?

The Molift Air 205 is a variant of the Air 200 with In-Rail Charging (IRC) and/or a powered Propulsion option built in as standard, rather than as an optional add-on. IRC ensures the hoist is always charged and ready for operation, automatically charging whenever it's parked on the rail.

The Propulsion option assists carers with movement along the rail, reducing the physical effort needed to traverse the hoist, which is particularly useful in longer rail installations or for carers managing multiple transfers throughout the day.

An occupational therapist assessment is required before selecting a ceiling hoist, to ensure the correct SWL, sling type and rail layout for the individual user. A site survey is also required before installation. All Molift ceiling hoists are lifting equipment under LOLER 1998. In workplace and care home settings, a formal examination by a competent person is required at least every 6 months. In domestic settings, a 12-monthly examination is the minimum. Only Etac-approved engineers should install the Molift Rail System, and the hoist must be serviced by authorised personnel after every 5,000 lifts at Safe Working Load.

Buyer questions

Clear answers to the questions customers usually ask before booking a free home demo.

How is the Air 205 different from the Air 200?

The Air 205 has In-Rail Charging (IRC) and/or the Propulsion option built in as standard, rather than as optional extras. Otherwise it shares the same core specification as the Air 200.

What does the Propulsion option do?

It provides powered assistance with moving the hoist along the rail, which reduces physical effort for carers, particularly in longer rail installations or high-transfer settings.

Does this hoist need an OT assessment before purchase?

Yes. An occupational therapist assessment is required to ensure the correct hoist specification, sling type and rail layout for the individual user. A site survey is also needed before installation.

How do I get pricing for this product?

All Molift ceiling hoist systems are priced on application, as the total cost depends on room layout, rail length, fixings and installation requirements. Please contact us to arrange a site survey and quotation.
