Machine wash at 60°C for polyester versions, and always follow the care label instructions. Sling type and size must be selected following an occupational therapist assessment.
Do LOLER regulations apply to hoist slings?
Yes. Slings are lifting accessories under LOLER 1998, and must be included in your formal hoist examination schedule — every 6 months in workplace/care home settings, or at least annually in domestic settings.
Do I need an OT assessment before choosing a sling?
