The Molift Nomad is a lightweight, portable ceiling hoist weighing just 6.8kg, with integrated carry handles. Its unique curved design and built-in 4-point sling bar give the user a comfortable, spacious position, and it works with all passive Molift slings.
With its special trolley, the Nomad can climb from one rail system to another without a transition rail, so moving between rooms is easy. Using the Nomad Extension Arm, one carer can connect and disconnect it without tools, and the Etac Cart makes storage and transport simple. Controls are on the handset and on a display on the front of the hoist.
Safety features include electronic overload protection, electrical emergency lowering and an emergency stop. It runs on NiMH batteries with sound and light battery indicators, and an automatic service notification.

Before choosing a ceiling hoist, an occupational therapist or moving and handling assessment will confirm the right safe working load, sling and sling bar for the person being hoisted. We then carry out a site survey to plan the rail layout and check the ceiling or walls can take the load. Installation is carried out by trained engineers.
Ceiling hoists are lifting equipment. We recommend a thorough examination every six months, in line with LOLER (the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998), plus any servicing Etac recommends. Every Molift hoist comes with the Molift Service Tool software, and a service indicator shows when a service is due.

How is the Nomad different from the Molift Air hoists?
The Nomad is lighter (6.8kg), has a built-in sling bar and can move between rail systems without a transition rail, so it can be carried to where it's needed. The Air hoists have a longer lifting range and higher capacities.
What is the safe working load?
There are two versions: 205kg and 255kg.
Will it work on a freestanding gantry?
Yes. The Nomad works with the Molift Rail System and with the freestanding Molift Duo and Quattro gantries.
Do I need an assessment before buying a ceiling hoist?

How often does the hoist need inspecting?
