Product advice

Is Molift Standing/Gait Training Sling right for you?

The Molift Standing/Gait Training Sling is designed to support standing transfers and active gait rehabilitation, for users with partial weight-bearing ability who are working towards greater mobility and independence.

Available in vest or belt configurations depending on the user's needs, it's used for standing practice and walking training with the ceiling hoist providing overhead support, rather than full lifting as in a standard transfer.

As with all slings, the correct type, configuration and size must be selected following an occupational therapist or physiotherapist assessment. Slings must be inspected before every use, assigned to a named individual user (never shared), and replaced when worn or damaged.

Buyer questions

Molift Standing/Gait Training Sling FAQs before you enquire

Clear answers to the questions customers usually ask before booking a free home demo.

Who is this sling designed for?

It's designed for users with partial weight-bearing ability who are working on standing transfers and gait rehabilitation, rather than users needing a full hoist lift.

What configurations are available?

It's available in vest or belt configurations, depending on the user's needs and rehabilitation goals.

Should a physiotherapist be involved in selecting this sling?

Yes, alongside an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist's input is particularly valuable when selecting a gait training sling, as the choice depends on the user's rehabilitation goals and current abilities.

Are there any important safety rules for using slings?

Yes. Slings must be inspected before every use and replaced if worn or damaged. They should be assigned to a named user and never shared between different patients. Machine wash at 60°C for polyester versions, and always follow the care label instructions. Sling type and size must be selected following an occupational therapist assessment.

Do LOLER regulations apply to hoist slings?

Yes. Slings are lifting accessories under LOLER 1998, and must be included in your formal hoist examination schedule — every 6 months in workplace/care home settings, or at least annually in domestic settings.

Am I eligible for VAT relief on this product?

If you have a disability or a long-term illness, you may qualify for VAT relief on this eligible product. This usually involves completing a simple eligibility declaration at checkout, with the VAT removed at the point of sale.
