The roots of Solent Mobility Centre run deep through our parent company, Shepherd Hospital Equipment, which has been a cornerstone of healthcare equipment services for more than four decades. In 2001, a significant chapter began when Mike and Debbie Watts acquired Shepherd Hospital Equipment, bringing fresh energy and vision to the established business.

A Vision Takes Shape

While managing Shepherd Hospital Equipment, Mike and Debbie noticed a growing need in the community. More and more people were inquiring about mobility solutions for their homes – from mobility scooters to stairlifts. They saw an opportunity to extend their healthcare expertise beyond hospital walls and into people's homes, where mobility solutions could transform daily lives.

Birth of Solent Mobility Centre

In 2008, their vision materialized with the opening of Solent Mobility Centre. What began as a response to community needs quickly evolved into a comprehensive mobility solution provider. The centre started with a focused range of mobility aids but steadily expanded its offerings to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Growth and Evolution

From our early days, we've grown into a thriving team of more than 14 dedicated professionals. Each team member brings specialized expertise, whether in engineering, sales, or customer support, contributing to our reputation for excellence in mobility solutions.

A New Generation of Leadership

The year 2017 marked a significant milestone in our journey when the torch was passed to the next generation. Ben Watts stepped into leadership at Solent Mobility Centre, while his brother Jamie Watts took the reins at Shepherd Hospital Equipment.
