Wheelchair & powerchair resale
Sell Your Electric Wheelchair or Powerchair
If you have an electric wheelchair, powerchair or manual wheelchair you no longer need, our local team can sell it on your behalf. We handle the assessment, preparation and sale, and you receive up to 40% of the final sale price once it sells.
Who buys used electric wheelchairs?
A Safer Way to Sell Your Wheelchair
Electric wheelchairs and powerchairs are heavy, specialist items, and private buyers are often unsure about batteries, controllers and whether a chair will suit them. That makes them hard to sell through classified ads.
We sell used chairs to customers who come to us for expert advice, so they buy with confidence. Before your chair goes on sale we check it over and carry out any servicing or battery replacement it needs. You stay the owner until it sells, and you don't have to arrange viewings or deal with buyers yourself.

Common questions
Selling a Wheelchair FAQs
Who buys second hand electric wheelchairs?
Solent Mobility Centre can sell your used electric wheelchair or powerchair on your behalf to customers who come to us for advice. You receive up to 40% of the final sale price once it sells.
Do you buy wheelchairs outright?
Our service sells your chair on your behalf rather than buying it outright. You stay the owner until it sells, and you are paid once it has sold.
What costs are deducted?
Costs such as servicing, safety checks, batteries, repairs, delivery or collection are deducted from your 40% share only.
Do you accept every chair?
No. Every chair is assessed first, and we may decline any that are unsafe, uneconomical to repair, incomplete or unlikely to resell.
Can you collect my wheelchair?
Collection can be arranged. Any collection cost is deducted from your share once the chair sells.
