Measure your home first. Doorway widths, the space to turn in hallways and the route from your front door to the pavement decide which powerchairs will work for you. We check all of this during a home demonstration.
Be honest about outdoor use. If you'll mostly stay indoors and on smooth pavements, an everyday or folding chair is easier to live with. If you need to tackle kerbs, grass or longer distances, look at a chair with bigger wheels, suspension and a larger battery.
Think about transport. If the chair needs to go in a car, check the weight of the heaviest part when it's folded or dismantled, or whether you'd need a ramp or a wheelchair-accessible vehicle instead.
Seating comes first if you'll sit for long periods. Seat width and depth, back support and cushioning matter more than top speed. If you need postural support, tilt-in-space or powered leg rests, we can arrange an assessment and look at prescription chairs.
